The Sunday Bookmark No. 1: Fantasy, Mafia Romance & Some TBR Tempting Books

Welcome to The Sunday Bookmark—my new weekly little corner of the blog where we catch up on all things reading. 📚 Every Sunday, I’ll share the books I finished, what I’m currently reading, what’s up next, and the books sitting on my TBR whispering read me instead. Because we all know a carefully planned reading list is really more of a suggestion. 😂

So grab your coffee, tea, wine—or whatever your Sunday calls for—get cozy, and let’s talk books. Let’s go.

Finished

For some reason, this week turned into a full-on mafia/organized crime romance era—and I’m not mad about it. 😂

First up was the upcoming Heart of a Killer ARC, releasing September 2. You can read my full review from yesterday HERE.

As for the other two? I’m not even going to pretend I discovered them on my own—Instagram influenced me. It had actually been a while since I’d picked up a mafia romance, and apparently I’d forgotten just how ridiculously fun these books can be. The danger, the morally questionable men, the family drama, the “I’ll burn the world down for her” energy…yeah. I’m back. 🖤🔪📚

Currently Reading

Currently, I’m back in the Ferretti Syndicate world with another installment by Sherry Blake—this time, it’s Dante’s story. And I’m calling it now: if it keeps going the way it’s going, this is destined to become one of my favorites in the series. 👀🖤

I’m also juggling two ARCs, including the audiobook of Paper Ghosts by Sarah Addison Allen. She’s one of my top three favorite authors, so you can imagine how excited I was to get my hands—or technically, my ears 😂—on this one.

Basically, my reading life right now is equal parts mafia men, advance copies, and absolutely no self-control. 📚

Next

One thing about me: when I fall into a book rabbit hole, I commit. 😂 Right now, I’m firmly stuck in the Ferretti Syndicate world, and I’m not particularly interested in finding my way out. I’m almost finished with Dante’s story, and next up is another book in the series—this time involving one of the female characters, which I’m especially excited about.

I’ll also be reading Only So Many Summers by Evi James. I’ve read her before and really enjoyed her Northwood series, so I have high hopes for this one.

And last but definitely not least, Latidos. This one is in Spanish, which makes me extra excited because I absolutely love getting the chance to read in my native language. ❤️📚

So apparently my current TBR has no interest in sticking to one lane: mafia, summer romance, and a little romance en español. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wonderful book link-ups I enjoy—
